Duke University Bid Consulting / Supplier Selection
Project: RFP – Facilities Management Services
Commercial Imperative
Duke University has partnered with Wuhan University to create a world-class university in Kunshan with 200-acre state-of-the-art facilities offering a range of academic programs and conferences for students from China and throughout the world. Duke Kunshan University (DKU) is located in Kunshan, Jiangsu province, China. We were asked to lead the effort of procuring the best in class facilities management services for the campus, in time for them to prepare for their first intake of students in Q3 2014.
Our Role
With the initial scope of services already in mind, we led the RFP process on behalf of Duke University and their local partner, from developing the supplier brief to final service provider selection and contract conclusion. We engaged a consistent and robust selection process and also acted as the bridge between western standards and the supply maturity of the local FM services market.
The Result
Following an effective exercise, Johnson Controls was selected as the facilities management supplier for DKU, with emphasis on individual and local services with an international standard of management as the reporting layer- the best of both worlds: locally run, internationally managed.
